Tragedy as neighbour kills pastor for defecating on empty land

Tragedy struck in the Olorunshogo area of Ondo town in Ondo State at the weekend, as a clergyman, Adekunle Adeyemi, died shortly after confrontation with a neighbour for defecating on a plot of land.

Adeyemi, who shepherds a white garment church in the town, was said to have defecated on an abandoned plot of land shortly after church service along the street but was challenged by one Mumini Majeed, a neighbour to the late pastor.

The confrontation allegedly led to a fight making the pastor slump and give up the ghost later at a private hospital in the area.

Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Enuowa Divisional Police Station in Ondo town, CSP Kunle Omisakin, said Mumini Mojeed, identified for having the confrontation with the victim, had been moved to the Ondo State Police command headquarters in Akure, the state capital, for further interrogation.
