Why other tribes are unhappy with Igbos --Former minister Nebo

A Former Minister for Power and and former Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Professor Chinedu Nebo has called on the Igbo people to return home, invest and develop Igboland.

This is as he said that other ethnic nationalities in the country are not happy with the Igbos over their growth and development.

He cited as example, the threat by Lagos Oba, during 2015 general election that if the
people from South East failed to vote for a certain candidate, they would be thrown into the lagoon.

The Professor who stated this during South East Leadership and Development Initiative (SELDI) 2016 in Enugu with the theme
“Integrating the South East Economy for Sustainable Growth and Development,” added that the Igbos as a great people must wake up and believe in themselves.

He said, “Nigeria is angry with the Igbo’s growth and development. It is obvious. It is only in Nigeria that a traditional ruler will open his mouth and say that if you do not vote for this person, then we will drown you and throw you into the lagoon. A traditional ruler who is supposed to be the promoter of peace and custodian of the people’s culture and tradition.

“It is high time we woke up and believed in ourselves. The Igbos are great people all over the world. About 80 per cent of Igbo wealth is in the Diaspora. We invest outside the country without coming back home. We need to adopt the “think home philosophy”, come back home and develop our land.

“We need to build and develop love for one another. The philosophy of “igwebuike” (togetherness) is still there. There shall be capacity for mentorship for our younger generation.”

“We need to build an educational system that is relevant. It is not just enough to churn out graduates into the labour market.
We need to develop our education system and curriculum in science, innovation and mathematics”, he said.

So they even know other tribes don’t like them. This is serious. Igbos are traitors. So no tribe will ever align with them especially with their useless civil war they caused those days in 70s.

Lol. Throw them in the lagoon of Oba RIlwan Akinolu of Lagos in 2015 general election was a slip of the tongue. He never knew when he said it himself. So igbos should not be angry.

If we igbos vex and leave Lagos, they will beg us to come back sharply because 80% investment of Lagos are owned by us. So igbos are the stronghold of Lagos revenue.

You are a liar. Igbos don’t have up to 10% of the investments in Lagos. Multinational companies own most Lagos state.

The Igbos are forever envied by other tribes in the country, I don’t think there is any such reason as growth and development. I think the Igbos re too wise for their liking.

He’s very correct, the Igbos are contributing immensely to the growth of Nigeria, that’s why other tribes are unhappy
