The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano State on Wednesday affirmed the victory of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, as the legally elected leader of the state after INEC had declared the incumbent as the winner of March 9, governorship election in the state.

The ruling by the three-man tribunal led by Justice Halima S. Muhammad now sets aside the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Abba Yusuf, to upturn Ganduje’s election, as governor of the state.

Recall that the tribunal had on September 18, reserved judgment, saying it would communicate the date for the delivery of judgement to the parties involved in the petition filed by Yusuf.

He wrote: “Free and compulsory education has come to stay in Kano State. Congratulation to the good people of Kano State. Congratulations my Governor my boss H.E “Our victory at the tribunal. It is indeed a confirmation that despite the barrage of insults and negativity from a select few, when God is on your side, nothing else matters & victory is assured.”
