Troops arrest father, son gunrunners, recover cache of weapons in Kaduna

Troops of Sector 7 of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have successfully busted a gun running syndicate operated by a father and his son in Kaduna State, recovering in the process, a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
According to security expert, Zagazola Makama, the intelligence based operation which took place Monday, January 20, led to the arrest of 62-year-old Timothy Yusuf and his son, Timothy Obadiah, in Fadiya Village, located in Zangon Kataf local government area of the state.
During the operation, 11 fabricated rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 60 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, and other sophisticated weapons were recovered from the suspects who were said to have been involved the crime for many years.
“The suspects, along with the seized weapons and ammunition, are currently in custody for further investigation. Efforts are also underway to locate and apprehend other members of the gun running syndicate,” Makama said in a post on his X page on Tuesday.
