Troops arrest suspected logistics supplier to bandits in Zamfara

Troops of the 1 Brigade, Operation Fansan Yanma, on Saturday arrested a suspected logistics supplier to bandits in Zamfara State, Shamsiyya Ahadu.

The Coordinator for the Joint Media Coordinating Centre, Operation Fansan Yamma, Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement in Gusau.

He said the 25-year-old suspect was arrested with her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, at a checkpoint along the road in Badarawa, Shinkafi local government area of the state.

The coordinator added that the suspect was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines meant to be delivered to a bandit kingpin, Bello Turji’s camp in the state.

The statement read: “The arrest followed an intelligence report regarding the movement of the terrorists’ logistics along the road from Kware to Badarawa in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

“In response to the development, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma promptly established a roadblock leading to the apprehension of the suspects. Both suspects are currently undergoing investigation by appropriate authorities.”
