DSS confirms Sowore’s arrest, States reason

A fresh round of political crisis is brewing within the ranks of the African Action Alliance (AAC) as the party has reportedly moved to expel its National Chairman, Mr. Omoyele Sowore from its fold.

The AAC took the action which also affected 28 other national officers of the party, at its ongoing National Convention of the party currently taking place at Rockview Hotel, Owerri.

Sowore was replaced by the suspended Leonard Nzenwa who now becomes a factional National Chairman of the party.

The development comes after another faction in the AAC raised the alarm over the ongoing national convention in the name of the party which it described as ‘false’.

In a statement signed by the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Dr. Joshua Adeoye, the party said that the fake national convention which is set for today (Friday), 9th of August, was purportedly led by Leonard Nzenwa.

The AAC in the statement issued late on Thursday also noted that such gatherings in the name of the party are baseless, criminal and motivated by mischief.
