Trump blocks counter Democrat memo after release of Republican document which claims FBI is biased against him

US President Donald Trump is heating up the American political landscape again after he blocked the release of a classified memo written by congressional Democrats.

The memo is a counter document by the Democrats to rebut a Republican document that Trump allowed to be made public last week which claimed FBI and Justice Department bias against him in the federal probe of Russia and the 2016 U.S. election.

Reports say the decision by Trump to block the memo infuriated Democrats with Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer saying, “Millions of Americans are asking one simple question: what is he hiding?”

According to White House Counsel Don McGahn, the document was blocked after the Justice Department had identified portions of the 10-page memo written by Democratic members that “would create especially significant concerns for the national security and law enforcement interests” of the country.

The release of the Republican memo last week saw the FBI and White House engage in a face-off following the public release of the controversial memo which purportedly showed anti-Trump bias by the agency.
