Trump hits out at FBI over Russia meddling inquiry

President Donald Trump of the United States of America has hit out at the FBI over its inquiry into Russia’s meddling saying the agency’s reputation was “in tatters” in a Twitter tirade.

Trump also issued a fresh denial that he asked former director James Comey to drop an investigation into the conduct of one of his top aides, Michael Flynn who reportedly lied to the FBI over Russia’s meddling during the presidential transition.

Reacting to reports that former FBI director and Special Counsel Robert Mueller dismissed an FBI officer from the investigation after making anti-Trump remarks, Trump tweeted saying; “Report: ‘ANTI-TRUMP FBI AGENT LED CLINTON EMAIL PROBE’ Now it all starts to make sense!”

Two days ago, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia, and has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors investigating Moscow’s meddling in the last elections won by Trump.

Reports say Flynn admitted under a plea bargain deal in a Washington court that he lied when asked by FBI investigators about his conversations last December with Russia’s then-ambassador, Sergei Kislyak, just weeks before Trump took office.
