Trump Jr. welcomed Russia’s help to release damaging info on Clinton, emails reveal

Emails released by Donald Trump Jr. suggests that the eldest son of the incumbent president of the United States of America was eager to meet with a woman he was told was a Russian government lawyer who might have damaging information about Democratic White House rival Hillary Clinton as part of Moscow’s official support for his father.

The released email is regarded as the most concrete evidence yet that Trump campaign officials welcomed Russian help to win the election, a subject that has cast a cloud over Trump’s presidency and spurred investigations by the Justice Department and Congress.

It also goes to show that the younger Trump was open to a “very high level and sensitive information” from a Russian attorney that a go-between described as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump” ahead of a meeting on June 9, 2016.

Yesterday, the New York Times released another report claiming that Donald Trump Jr. knew of Russia’s plans to help his dad win the last US elections.

The report further revealed that Trump Jr. was told in an email of Russia’s effort to enhance his father’s effort to win the last elections over Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton.

According to the report by New York Times, Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy.

However, Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who reportedly met with Donald Trump Jr. soon after his father clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year has denied links with Kremlin.

The lawyer who was visited by Trump Jr. immediately after his dad clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year says it is “possible” that the president’s son was looking for damaging information on the Democratic Party.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with CNBC, she said; “They wanted it so badly,” she said in a segment that aired Tuesday on NBC’s “Today.” “I never knew who else would be attending the meeting. All I knew was that Mr. Donald Trump Jr. was willing to meet with me.”
