Two children of a popular Islamic cleric in Oyo State, Taofeeq Akewugbagold, have reportedly been kidnapped. Both are a set of twins.
Ripples Nigeria gathered that the incident occurred Saturday night when gunmen stole into the residence of Akewugbagold in the Ojoo area of the State.
The bereaved father disclosed the kidnap in a post on his Facebook wall on Sunday, and called on people to assist him with prayers. He also pleaded with the abductors to show mercy on the family as the abducted twins were born after nearly twelve years of marriage.
“What a country! My twin children were kidnapped at gunpoint at my Ojoo residence Ibadan, around 8pm Saturday 10 minutes after I left my home recording lecture in a studio.

The Oyo state police command has since confirmed the incident through its spokesman, Olugbenga Fadeyi.
