Twitter bans posts inciting violence over 5G towers

In reaction to the widespread idea by conspiracy theorists of a connection between the novel coronavirus and 5G networks, Twitter has warned that it would delete “unverified claims” or information that incite any form of attack on 5G cell towers.

The social media giant stated in a blog post on Wednesday that such tweets were capable of causing “widespread panic, social unrest, or large-scale disorder”.

Scientists and researchers have debunked the idea of a connection between the two, stating that attempts to sabotage communications networks will endanger more lives.
