Two under aged protesters shot dead in Venezuela

Two under aged protesters have been shot dead by local police in Venezuela following growing unrest and demonstrations in the South American country ignited by deepening political and economic crisis.

One of the victims according to reports is a 14-year-old who was shot dead alongside another in the western city of Barquisimeto on Tuesday night.

The dead teenager was identified as Brayan Principal by opposition MP Alfonso Marquina, who said he had been shot in the abdomen.

In a separate incident, a 36-year-old man was also killed in Barquisimeto in a separate incident, the state prosecution service said.

The presidency of Nicolas Maduro’s has come under increasing pressure as the economy suffers and opponents accuse him of creating a dictatorship.

Maduro has resisted efforts by the opposition to hold a referendum on removing him and has vowed to continue the “socialist revolution” launched by his predecessor Hugo Chavez.
