Two more people die during Buhari campaign rally

Two persons on Wednesday lost their lives during President Muhammadu Buhari campaign rally in Sokoto, reports from the state claimed.

The sad news is coming less that 48 hours after scores of supporters of Buhari at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally in Borno State on Monday, reportedly lost their lives.

The victims of the incident in Sokoto it was learnt are a 15-year-old boy and a woman. The names of the deceased were yet to be known as at press time.

An eyewitnesses report explained that the woman lost her life following a knock down by a moving vehicle along the road leading to Giginya Memorial Stadium, the venue of the campaign rally.

The boy on the other hand was reported to have fainted and died inside the venue of the rally owing to the large crowd.

Speaking to newsmen on the incident, the Information Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Sokoto Operation Office, Abu-Bilal Baba-Ali, said the “two were certified dead after NEMA officials had rushed them to a hospital.”
