Two motorcyclist die in display of 'expertise' while escorting corpse from mortuary

Two motorcyclists in Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State lost their lives following a collision when they were accompanying a corpse from a mortuary for burial.

According to reports, the incident occurred some few metres away from the home of the deceased, Mr. George Eke, as the victims died on the spot after the collision at the boundary between Eziome Mbieri and Amaolu Mbieri communities.

Eyewitnesses say a group of motorcyclists had gathered to pay their last respect for the deceased and were conveying the corpse for a requiem mass before burial when the incident occurred.

One witness said the motorcyclists who had followed the family to the morgue started the ‘traditional’ display of expertise with their motorcycles as a way of celebrating the dead, before the accident.
