Two rescued as two-storey building collapses in Oshodi

Two people were rescued from a two storey building collapse that occurred on Sunday morning at Oshodi area of Lagos.

The building according to sources was already marked for demolition by Lagos state government some weeks ago.

The incident which generated panic in the residents occurred around 9am at No 35, Adesanya Street, off Ayoni Bus Stop in the Mafoluku area of Oshodi.

It was gathered that some residents decided to continue living in the building after which it was marked for demolition by the state government.

Rescue workers and officials from the Lagos State government have, already moved into the site of the building to pull down the remaining structure.

The Lagos Police Public Relation Officer DSP Bala Elkana, when contacted by our correspondent, confirmed the incident. He said “ No live was lost in the incident, adding that rescue team were already at the site”.
