U-20 AFCON: Zambia beat Senegal to lift title for the first time

Hosts of the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, Zambia have emerged champions after they defeated Senegal 2-0 in the final on Sunday.

The Junior Chipolopolo made the feat by sco4ing two first half goals, from Patson Daka in the 15th minute when Senegal goalkeeper failed to hold unto his low cross, and Edward Chilufya twenty minutes later courtesy of a poor clearance from the keeper..

It was Zambia’s first appearance in the U-20 AFCON final, while it was back-to-back final defeats for Senegal following their 1-0 loss to the Flying Eagles in the 2015 which they hosted.
Guinea defeated South Africa 1-0 to finish third place in the competition.
