Published

Sony Music has sued the popular American singer, Prince, for poaching Judith Hill, a singer who is under contract with them.

Judith Hill was a former backup singer for Michael Jackson, and was part of his ‘This Is It’ concert. She was also featured in the Oscar-Winning documentary 20 Feet from Stardom.

Sony and Cherry who discovered Lady Gaga claimed they signed Hill to an exclusive recording deal. They said that they had warned her to stop her work with the Prince when they heard rumours of it months ago.

The music company is seeking punitive damages from Prince for working with Hill in his new album without their permission. The new album is already making waves on the internet and is free to download as at Monday.
