UCL: Arsenal, Atalanta play goalless as 10-man Barcelona lose to Monaco

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was in action for Atalanta in their goalless draw against Arsenal in a Champions League encounter on Thursday night.

Lookman could not convert the chances for the Serie A side at home, and was on field for 89 minutes vefore he was substituted.

David Raya made an unbelievable double save from a penalty as he kept out Mateo Retegui’s spot-kick and again scooped the striker’s follow-up header off the line.

Elsewhere, Lamine Yamal scored a goal in the 28th minute but it was not enough as 10-man Barcelona suffered a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Monaco.

Barcelona played over 80 minutes with 10 men as Eric García was sent off in the 10th minute before Maghnes Akliouche opened scoring in the 17th minute.

Yamal equalized but it was Nigerian striker George Ilenikhena’s 71st minute effort that gave the hosts the victory.

In other Champions League games, Atletico Madrid defeated RB Leipzig 2-1, Brest defeated Sturm 2-1, Benfica sealed a 2-1 away victory while Bayer Leverkusen thrashed Feyenoord 4-0.
