UCL: Liverpool thrash Milan, Bayern hammer Zagreb as Real Madrid beat Stuttgart
The new-format UEFA Champions League has kicked off with many goals scored on day one of the league phase, with holders Real Madrid defeating Stuttgart 3-1.
Kylian Mbappe was on the score sheet as he opened scoring for the hosts as soon as the second half began.
Antonio Rüdiger and Endrick scored the two other goals for the Spanish giants while Deniz Undav netted the only goal for German side Stuttgart.
Elsewhere, Liverpool also thrashed AC Milan 3-1, with goals from Ibrahima Konaté, Virgil van Dijk and Dominic Szoboszlai for Liverpool.

Hosts Milan had opened the scoring through Christian Pulisic in the third minute before Liverpool pulled off a comeback win at San Siro.
In Germany, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 9-2, with England striker Harry Kane netting four goals – three from the penalty spot.
Michael Olise bagged two goals, while Raphaël Guerreiro, Leroy Sane and Leon Goretzka all bagged a goal each to give the hosts a big win.
In the other Champions League ties played on Tuesday, Juventus defeated PSV 3-1, Aston Villa won 3-0 away against Young Boys while Sporting beat Lille 2-0.
