UCL: Liverpool thrash Porto 4-1, berths in semi-final

It was a glorious night for Liverpool Football Club on Wednesday, as they thrashed FC Porto 4-1 to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2019 Champions League.

Liverpool’s victory has now set them up for a clash with Lionel Messi’s Barcelona.

Liverpool came into the match with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg played at Anfield last week.

The English team opened scoring through Sadio Mane, a goal that was allowed after a lengthy VAR review.

Mohamed Salah, substitute Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk put their names in the scoring sheet in the second half to seal Liverpool’s victory.

Porto’s consolation goal came through Eder Militao 21 minutes to the end of the game.

Porto had lost 5-0 to Liverpool at their home ground about a year ago.
