Champions Liverpool bounced back from their opening day defeat to beat RB Salzburg 4-3 in a thrilling Champions League match on Wednesday.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 9th minute before Robertson and Mohamed Salah made it 3-0 36 minutes into the game.

Salzburg began what could have ended as an incredible fight-back as Hwang Hee-Chan pulled one back in the first half before Takumi Minamino and Erling Braut Heeland levelled up within four second-half minutes.

But Salah scored the winner and his second of the night in the 69th minute to hand Jurgen Klopp’s side their first win of the campaign.

The group E is however topped by Napoli, who drew goalless at Genk earlier on Wednesday and now have 4 points.

Elsewhere, Super Eagles forward, Victor Osihmen scored his maiden Champions League goal although it wasn’t enough for Lille as they fell 1-2 to Chelsea.

Osimhen’s goal came in the 33rd minute after Tammy Abraham had fired Chelsea ahead in the 22nd minute.

Willian’s 77th minute winner secured all three points for the Blues.

Ajax are at the top of the group H with 6 points after thrashing Valencia 3-0.

At Camp Nou, Spanish champions Barcelona put up a good fight against Serie A side Inter Milan to win 2-1.

A brace by Luis Suarez helped the hosts come from behind to bag their first win in this season’s campaign, having drawn their opener against Dortmund.

The other game of group F between Slavia Prague and Dortmund ended in the German side’s favour as they won 2-0 earlier on Wednesday.

RB Leipzig were stunned by Olympique Lyon, with the French side securing a 2-0 away victory, while Zenit St Petersburg defeated Benfica 3-1 in the group’s other game.
