UCL: Sevilla coach Berizzo wary of ‘wounded’ Liverpool

Ahead of their Champions League clash, Sevilla coach, Eduardo Berizzo, has warned his side that Liverpool “will be wounded” when both sides meet this week.

Only last weekend, Liverpool were demolished 5-0 by Premier League rivals Manchester City, the same day that Sevilla comprehensively beat Eibar 3-0, but Berizzo made it clear the Reds would come out fighting.

“Liverpool’s heavy defeat to City? It should be noted that they played with a man less for an hour away from home.

“They’re a great team and that defeat doesn’t take anything away from them. Moreover, they’ll be wounded.”

He added: “We must keep putting together solid victories. Eibar were able to put us under pressure early on. After that, we put together the correct attacks.

“We must keep taking over matches. We must continue to work and be correct in our approach. Our performance leaves me satisfied.”

The UEFA Champions League group stages begin this Tuesday, and Jurgen Klopp’s men will host their Spanish counterparts at Anfield on Wednesday night.
