Ahead of Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo insists he simply cannot be compared to Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

Many have compared the Portugal captain with the Egypt international following the latter’s rise to fame, having grabbed a number of individual awards this season.

Salah has enjoyed a record breaking first season at Anfield, scoring 44 goals in all competitions, winning the golden boot in the Premier League and spearheading Liverpool’s run to the continental final.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, overcame a sluggish start to the La Liga campaign to help inspire Real to a third finish in Spain and also to the brink of a third Champions League crown in a row.

After laughing off the comparison, the 32-year-old however admitted he has been impressed with Salah’s exploits since his move from Roma last summer.

“Not really,’ said Ronaldo when asked if he saw any similarities between himself and Salah.

“He is completely different. He plays with the left, I play with the right. I’m tall he’s a little bit shorter, I play with the head.

“We are completely different. People want to compare me with other players but I’m different from everyone.

“Salah is different but I have to say he has had a fantastic Champions League a fantastic league season, but Saturday, let’s see,” he stated.

Both players will be playing against each other in this weekend’s Champions League final billed to hold at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex, Kiev, Ukraine.
