Ujah, Akpan hit targets in Europe

Nigeria’s Anthony Ujah continued his goal scoring form by hitting the target for his sixth goal in the German Bundesliga game for Werder Bremen as they lost 3-1 away to Hamburg.

Ujah scored in the 62nd minute after the home team had scored two goals earlier.

The 25-year-old forward has played for Lillestrom (Norway), Cologne and Mainz (both in Germany).

Werder Bremen are 15th on the league table with 13 points from 14 games, while Hamburg are sixth with 21 points from 14 games.

Meanwhile, Nigeria midfielder, Hope Akpan scored his first-ever goal for English Championship side Blackburn Rovers on Saturday in their 2-2 draw at home with Sheffield Wednesday.

Blackburn Rovers are 14th on the league table with 21 points from 18 games.

The 24-year-old Akpan, who joined Blackburn Rovers in the summer, scored in the fifth minute to give his team a 1-0 lead.

He has played 15 games since joining 1the team.

The midfielder has four caps for Nigeria and has played for Everton, Crawley and Reading.
