Underage voting: INEC screens five million Kano registered voters

The panel set up by the Independent National Electoral Commission to probe alleged underage voting in Kano State will, on Monday (tomorrow), begin examining 4,975,701 voters on the register, SUNDAY PUNCH can confirm.

The eight-member committee is headed by a National Commissioner, Abubakar Nahuche.

Other members of the committee are a National Commissioner, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu; the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Mike Ingini; Adamawa State REC, Kassim Geidam; Mr. Yakubu Duku of the Electoral Operations Department, Mrs. Rukayat Bello of the Voter Registry Department, Mr. Paul Omokore of the ICT Department and Mr. Jude Okwuonu.

It was learnt that Information Technology experts at INEC would obtain soft copies of the register used for the local government election organised by the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission and begin examining the pictures.
