The drama surrounding collation of Imo State governorship election results moved a notch higher on Monday as the Election Collation officer for Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Kelechi Ezirim, was ordered arrested by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The order was sequel to alleged acts of electoral malpractice.

Also ordered arrested was the Electoral Officer in charge of Ohaji Egbema, Chris Ogbuadu.

Ezirim and Ogbuadu reportedly admitted to collating results from polling units where elections did not take place.

The arrest of both suspects was ordered by the Returning Officer, Francis Otunta, and the police have since taken the men into custody.
