UNIOSUN students in violent protests over disappearance of their colleagues

The streets of Olaiya in Osogbo and others were on Wednesday flooded by students of the Osun State University who are protesting over the constant disappearance of their colleagues.

Reports say undergraduates of the University are burning things and vandalising properties following the recent disappearance of a 400 level student of Microbiology Department whose lifeless body was found days later.

Sources say the undergraduate was called out by a neighbour, Sakariyau Abdulrofiu, 10 days ago only for his corpse to be found at the back of an Alfa’s house.

The rampaging students, who were dressed in black shirts and trousers chanted war songs and attacked motorists and journalists covering the protest.

According to reports, the NUJ Correspondent Chapel’s office at Fagbewesa was invaded by the students who allegedly slapped a female journalist, Seun Adesokan, for daring to take photographs of their protests.
