Court grants Seun Egbegbe, accomplice N5m bail

Like a bolt from the blue, Alhaji Kazeem Oluwaseun Olasunkanmi popularly known as Seun Egbegbe crept into the consciousness of many when he started dating actress Toyin Aimakhu three months after her marriage to her estranged hubby Adeniyi Johnson crashed.

But before he became relatively popular, Seun was and is still a well known leader of a group of motor park operators in the Ikeja axis.

Sources say his network and popularity within the Ikeja axis endeared him to a couple of movie producers in the Yoruba movie sector who approached him some time ago to fund a couple of movies as a producer, but according to reports he declined the offer.

But on a second thought, and after he had carried out a study on the mode of operation in the Yoruba movie sector, Seun decided to veer into movie production by setting up Ebony Films Production International Limited with him as the CEO.

However, Seun’s ‘big boy’ status is now in tatters after he was allegedly caught trying to escape with nine iPhones at a shop at Computer Village, identified as Kaalcech Innovation and Consultancy located at No 9, Medical Road, Ikeja, on Tuesday, November 22.

Seun was battered and bruised by an angry mob after the sales girl at the shop, where Seun was said to have made away with the phones, and who claimed she was hypnotized, came back to her senses and raised an alarm.

The Ebony Films Production boss was subsequently arrested and taken to Area F of the Nigerian Police Command and it is also on record that the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni has been briefed on the matter.

Seun is presently at the Magistrate Court in Ikeja and according to the Lagos state Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus, “After Discreet Police Investigation and two nights in custody, Seun Egbegbe has been charged to court for stealing.”

Incoming reports however say Seun has been granted bail with two sureties who have N2 million in their account, and property in Ikeja area of Lagos after appearing before Mrs. A. J. Atunwa at the Roseline Omotosho Court House in GRA Ikeja, with the case reportedly adjourned to February 8, 2017.
