The Director of the FBI James Comey has confirmed that the agency is investigating a possible collusion between President Donald Trump and the Russian government over the last staged elections.
The FBI chief who for the first time revealed that his agency is investigating an alleged complicity between Russia and the Trump campaign noted also that finding are underway to establish whether any crimes may have been committed during last year’s election campaign.
“That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts,” Comey said in his opening statement to the House Intel Hearing Committee.
Comey also informed that he had no information to support claims by Trump that he was wiretapped by his predecessor, Barack Obama.
“I have no information that supports those tweets,” Comey told the House Intelligence Committee, adding that the Justice Department, along with the FBI, had no information to support the allegations.
