US expels 2 Russian diplomats over ‘attack’ in Moscow

The US State Department has revealed that two Russian diplomats have been expelled following an attack on an American diplomat in the Russian capital of Moscow.

The two Russian diplomats who have not been named according to spokesman John Kirby were both told to leave the United States on the 17th of June.

Mr Kirby said that earlier that month, a Russian policeman attacked the US diplomat near the US embassy in Moscow.

“The action was unprovoked,” he said. Russia said the diplomat worked for the CIA and had refused to show ID papers.
