US flies in 2 jet bombers in show of force against North Korea
Two days after North Korea waved aside the push for sanctions by the US government against it after it carried out a successful “nuclear warhead explosion”, the US has flown two jet bombers to South Korea in a show of force and solidarity.
The supersonic B-1 Lancer strategic bombers were escorted in by South Korean and US fighter jets in a low-altitude flight over South Korea’s Osan airbase.

Sung Kim, the US special representative on North Korea, said the US remained open to authentic, meaningful dialogue with Pyongyang on ending its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

“Our intention is to secure the strongest possible [UN Security Council] resolution that includes new sanctions as quickly as possible,” Kim announced after meeting his South Korean counterpart.

‎Last week’s nuclear test, the North’s fifth, was its most powerful to date.
