US planning to blame Tehran for horrors its clients unleashed across Mid-east, Iran says

The United State of America has slammed Iran’s foreign minister Javad Zarif with sanctions for carrying out the agenda of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The development was announced on Wednesday by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control which said it was imposing sanctions on Zarif for acting on behalf of Khamenei.

“Javad Zarif implements the reckless agenda of Iran’s Supreme Leader, and is the regime’s primary spokesperson around the world,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement.

However, Zarif has waved aside the sanctions imposed on him by the US in a post on Twitter saying the US move indicates Washington sees him as a “threat”.

“It has no effect on me or my family, as I have no property or interest outside of Iran,” he said.

According to reports, the announcement of the sanctions against Zarif comes as the US extended for another 90 days waivers allowing foreign firms to work at Iranian nuclear facilities without penalties.
