We used 'juju' on guards to perfect Vampire's escape -Herbalist

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) under the command of the Inspector General of Police has secured the arrest of Iweajuo Gad, the 55-year-old trusted ‘medicine man’, of notorious kidnapper and armed robber, Henry Chibueze a.k.a Vampire.

Reports say the herbalist who allegedly got the sum of N700, 000 to prepare rituals that destabilised prison officials during the court escape was arrested in his shrine at Asoeme Town in Aba, Abia State on Sunday according to police sources at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

“In continuation of the operations in mopping up Vampire’s gang members in the Southeast, IRT operatives arrested one Iweajuo Gad from Asoeme Town in Aba, Abia South Local Council. The suspect is the number one herbalist of Vampire and many other groups of armed robbers and kidnappers”, the source said.

Continuing, the police source added that; “One of Vampire’s gang members already arrested led detectives to the shrine where the herbalist was arrested. The suspect confessed to have given many bullet repelling charms and ‘disappearance charms’ to Vampire and his group.

“He further confessed to interrogators that he led three herbalists to perform special rituals to secure Vampire’s rescue from the High Court in Owerri. He told detectives that the names of seven prison service officers were brought to him by Vampire’s brother to perfect the rituals that would disorganise and destabilise the officers during the rescue. They were given N200, 000 for the ritual and one week after the successful rescue, Vampire sent N500, 000 to him.”

Vampire was killed last week after he was shot dead by security operatives under the command of Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari during a raid which saw the arrest of five other members of his gang namely Obinna Ela, Arinze Abecheta, Chukwu Ebuka, Samuel Ugochukwu and Clifford Aheana who were also arrested alive during the operation with catches of Arms and ammunition recovered from them.

Recall about two months ago, that Vampire while standing trial at an Imo state High Court was forcefully whisked away by his gang members who stormed the court during proceedings and started shooting into the air sporadically wounding several people and causing a stampede as there was no security operative on ground to engage the miscreants.
