COURT VICTORY: Don’t waste time, give me my certificate of return, Imo Sen tells INEC

The Appeal Court has affirmed Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu as the duly elected senator representing Imo North senatorial district.

The appellate court sitting in Owerri, the Imo State capital and headed by Justice S.J. Adah agreed with the earlier ruling of the election tribunal on petitions challenging Uwajumogu’s victory during the last National Assembly election.

The court dismissed the appeals filed by the candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Action Alliance (AA) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The judge said that the petitions filed by other candidates in the outcome of the senatorial election in Imo-North lacked merit and could not be substantiated.
