Vaccinations begin in the DRC as Ebola fear rises
Health officials in the Democratic Republic of Congo will today begin to contain the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus with a vaccination campaign beginning on Monday.
According to Health Minister Jessica Ilunga no less than 4,000 doses of vaccine were shipped on Saturday to the city of Mbandaka, which registered its first case of the disease last week.

Reports say the World Health Organization is sending 7,540 doses of the vaccine developed by Merck to Congo with talks about a second vaccine made by Johnson & Johnson.
A government spokesman said late on Saturday that Congo’s partners had promised to make available a total of 300,000 doses of vaccines as fears of the outbreak increases.
