Vardy eyes deadly partnership with Musa

CSKA coach confirms Leicester bid for Musa
Leicester City top striker Jamie Vardy has expressed confidence in forming a deadly partnership upfront with Super Eagles striker, Ahmed Musa, who joined the club on a record signing.
Vardy was partnered by Shinji Okazaki and Leonardo Ulloa last season as City surged to the title and Vardy finished second in the Premier League goal scoring charts with 24.
However, new £16 million signing Musa is a very different striker to both Okazaki and Ulloa, although, he is very similar to Vardy, with lightning pace and direct running.
The duo combined for the first time on Sunday in the second half of City’s Community Shield defeat to Manchester United.
Musa’s pressuring of Marouane Fellaini led to Vardy’s goal.
Vardy has said he has no doubts that he and Musa can be a deadly combination.
“He’s quick,” said Vardy. “I’ve seen him before. I’ve watched in the Champions League at home when he played for CSKA Moscow and he always had that speed and obviously he can finish.
“Hopefully, it will bring another aspect to our strike force.
He also dismissed the notion that he can’t play with Musa because of the similarity in their style of play.
“We had that the other year when people said I couldn’t play up front with Leo, because we were too different. But obviously that was a load of rubbish.
“I can definitely play with him, you just both adapt. David Nugent was one of those who joined the midfield and attack, then you have Leo who is like the target man so I might drop in a bit.
“You have to constantly adapt, but that is what we do on the training field, you get to know each other and it becomes automatic.”
