VENEZUELA: 3 more protesters feared dead during demonstrations

The on-going protests against the presidency of Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela has witnessed the killing of three more people who took to the streets in wealthy eastern Caracas amid a tropical downpour Thursday to support the protest movement.

The death of the three victims are coming a day after two under aged protesters were shot dead by local police in Venezuela following growing unrest ignited by deepening political and economic crisis.

One of the protesters, 36-year-old Miguel Colmenares was shot at a protest in the central city of Barquisimeto, while another, Gruseny Calderon, 32, was injured by rubber bullets that pierced his lung and liver.

The third victim according to the public prosecutor’s office was a 13-year-old boy who also lost his life in the wave of anti-government protests now entering its third week.

President Maduro has resisted efforts by the opposition to hold a referendum on removing him and has vowed to continue the “socialist revolution” launched by his predecessor Hugo Chavez.
