Virginia woman dies after being struck by wind-tossed umbrella
A 55-year-old Virginia woman has lost her life after she was struck by a wind-driven umbrella at a beach in the sunny city.
The police in a statement say the woman identified as Lottie Michelle Belk, of Chester, died when a strong gust of wind tossed an anchored umbrella across the sand on Virginia Beach which is about 110 miles (175 km) south of Washington.
The statement revealed that the woman was struck in the torso and went into cardiac arrest.
She was later transported by an Emergency personnel to a hospital, where she gave up the ghost.
“There is no evidence of foul play,” police said.
