Be wary of Fashola, PDP tells Buhari

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to beware of the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.

The state’s publicity secretary, Taofik Gani, in a statement, said the President should be careful with Fashola especially with his penchant for making unverifiable claims of achievement.

Wondering why Fashola, a lawyer, would be saddled with three portfolios relating to engineering, the party condemned the minister for celebrating the proposed injection of 30 megawatts into the national grid when resources enough to inject over 500 megawatts into it had been provided.

The minister, according to the statement, should rather be sober for mismanaging the country’s power generation from “6000MW when he took over to now less than 2000MW” instead of celebrating.

The statement reads in part: “We sincerely advise President Buhari to be very wary of the deceptive skills of Fashola who will usually hype and celebrate even mediocrity.

“Fashola has a penchant for misrepresenting facts of his achievements in government and would always rationalise obvious inadequacies.”

“As governor of Lagos State, he enjoyed unprecedented revenues and donations, yet he left many services untouched or unfinished. He, however, deliberately funded his pro-Fashola media and commentators so much that pseudo and exaggerated achievements were ascribed to him.

“He employed this model to promote his eight years government of mediocrity. Fashola ended up making Lagos State the biggest debtor with local and foreign debts well over N1 trillion”, the party stated.

I know fashola might have exaggerated his achievements but he is doing something and we can all attest to that, though we’ve not seen what he is doing about housing but we are hopeful. therefore, PDP can shut up and remain opposition party

I see sign of hatred here because you are not sounding like someone who is contributing issues.but don’t forget APC is not better than PDP because PDP make a good contribution but APC came to destroy the things PDP made

Fashola that left lagos in debts, the 3 portfolio is just too important to be given to a single person, who happens to always exaggerate his achievements.

I can’t believe PDP is still sad that Fashola has three portfolios in Buhari’s administration. They are only vetting the annoyance on Fashola’s establishment of 300MW

Well, PDP is correct, This administration destroyed the power sector the more. From 6000MW to 2000MW and Fashola is adding 300MW which is still not up to what PDP left, what’s there to celebrate truly?

Though I know buhari set traps for fashola but fashola didn’t know this . he wants to see how fashola will fail in the sector before bringing in a northern man to sector. Just watch and see.

Sentiment apart, power was better off during the PDP’s regime compare to what we have now. But mind you, PDP spent 16years before achieving this. So let’s wait for 10years for APC to stabilize our power sector like that of Ghana.

I doubt if this we happen because APC has no power to do so because they are all failures. But PDP has all it takes to make nigeria proud
