APC women go after Melaye for threatening Tinubu

In from Timothy Enieten-Matthews … .
As the nation waits patiently for the official release of the names of President Muhammadu Buhari’s first batch of ministerial nominees, Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi West) has admonished Nigerians to wait for the reading of the list by Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, before having any official reaction from the Senate on the nominations.

Melaye, who is the spokesman for the Senate, stated this at the weekend, insisting that the senate will ask the nominees moral questions.

“Questions for the nominees won’t be based on their educational qualifications alone but will also be on their morals, character and antecedents because we won’t allow Nigerians to accuse the Senate of approving somebody with questionable character as President Buhari’s minister”

It will be recalled that Melaye had told journalists after plenary last Tuesday that the screening of ministerial nominees would not be business as usual in the 8th Senate.

He said, “We are eagerly waiting for the ministerial list from Mr. President and we want to assure Nigerians that as soon as we get this ministerial list we would start working on them expeditiously but diligently”.
