A wedding ceremony in the Turkish city of Gaziantep turned into a blood fest when a suicide bomber struck, killing 30 people and injuring 94 other guests.
The blast which occurred in the southeastern province of Turkey near the Syrian border at about 11pm local time was a “terror attack”, according to Ali Yerlikaya, the governor of Gaziantep.
Turkey’s deputy prime minister, Mehmet Simsek, told broadcaster NTV that the explosion appeared to have been caused by a suicide bomber, while President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said “Daesh is the likely perpetrator of the attack”, using the Arabic name for the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) group.
