West Ham ready to pay double for Iheanacho

English Premier League side West Ham have made a move for Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho, making known their willingness to double the current wage he receives at Manchester City.

Iheanacho, who has only made one start for City this year, is expected to be allowed to leave the City by boss Pep Guardiola.

And the Hammers, who are looking to strengthen attacking areas after Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho endured injury-hit seasons, have formally launched a bid as they look to get proceedings moving to sign the youngster with £25m.

Reports in the British media, including The Sun, claim the Hammers are aware the forward earns £35,000-a-week at the Etihad, and are willing to be doling out £70,000 per week to bring him to London stadium.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is also hopeful that the club’s new signing Pablo Zabaletta can help convince his former teammate Iheanacho to join him at West Ham.

Meanwhile, Leicester City and Everton are the other Premier League teams being linked with a swoop for the 20-year old, as French and German giants, Borussia Dortmund and PSG, are also monitoring the situation.
