We’ve evidence Burundi troops gang raped women –UN

Burundi security forces are being accused by the United Nations of gang-raping women in its crackdown against perceived opposition leaders while searching their homes.

The UN says it has documented 13 cases where the security forces separated the women and raped them. It also said forces kidnapped tortured and killed dozens of young men.

On the other hand, four generals have been sentenced to life in jail for the part they played in trying to overthrow Burundi President, Pierre Nkurunziza in the month of May last year.
