The people of Taraba State have been urged to remain peaceful at all times and deviate from actions that can cause crisis leading to the loss of lives and valuable property.
The call was made on Sunday by Governor, Darius Ishaku, via a statement by his media assistant, Bala Abu, on the occasion of Easter.
Governor Ishaku said, “We have had too many crises and conflicts and lost too many innocent lives and valuable properties in the past. These should stop.
“Peace is the greatest need of the state at this point in time and we must commit ourselves to the search for it.”
While reminding the people of the importance of the occasion to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ as an outstanding festival in the Christian calendar, the governor noted that it was an occasion for the people of Taraba to resolve to “work much harder” for peace and unity among themselves.
“Easter reminds us of the great sacrifice through the death of Jesus Christ and whose triumph over death through His resurrection has made salvation free for mankind,” the governor said.
