Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu has commented on the ongoing collation of presidential election results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

30-year-old Ogu, who plays for Hapoel Be’er Sheva, says he is following the collation of results over the internet, and hopes that the eventual winner will get down to work as soon as INEC’s decision is made.

In a Twitter video live chat on Tuesday, the midfielder was asked, “What do you have to say about the Nigerian presidential election?”

He replied: “Oh, yes, I am waiting for the final result like everyone else back home. I am watching on Channels via YouTube.

“I want a better Nigeria like everyone else. The only difference is that I did not vote because of my location.

“But I pray that whomever becomes the new president will provide the basic needs of the youth.

“Sincerely, I don’t have special preference for any one of them (Buhari or Atiku). Anybody that wins should just work.

“We are not called the giant of Africa for nothing. We need to prove that as a nation.

“We need jobs for the youths. We need a lot of things. Our leaders must be ready to provide,” he said.

The Israel-based footballer also answered questions concerning Chelsea keeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and talked about how he is adapting to life in Israel.

As at the time of the report, incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari is leading against his main opposition, Alh. Atiku Abubakar.
