Tavecchio hints Chelsea boss Conte could return as Italy coach

Following Chelsea’s shocking home defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, the Blues’ Manager Antonio Conte has said the outcome of any game doesn’t change the philosophy of his team.

He said Chelsea will have to continue in the same way and work very hard to prepare in the right way for every game.

Speaking at his pre-match conference ahead of Wednesday’s crucial Premier League tie against Manchester City, the Italian said he is pleased with his players as he’s “always seeing a great commitment which is very important.”

When asked what he has been saying to his players after Saturday’s defeat at home to Crystal Palace, he said:

“If we win, lose or draw the training session doesn’t change. Our philosophy doesn’t change. This part of the season is very important for many teams – teams fighting for the title and the relegation zone.

“But we have to continue in the same way and work very hard to prepare in the right way for every game.”

The League leaders will be hosting fourth-placed Manchester City on Wednesday night, and Conte reminds himself that his side needs 21 points to lift the trophy this season.

“Tomorrow we have another game,” he continued.

“Anything can happen in the league. For sure we need 21 points to win the league mathematically.

“We are in a really good position that nobody thought that Chelsea could fight this season for the title, but we stay there and we want to keep this position.

“We know there are many teams that want to win the league but this is normal. Whoever wins the league will deserve to win the league.”
