Why evil doers spread rumours on Buhari’s health –Lai Mohammed
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed described the rumored death of President Muhammadu Buhari as a “silly thing” does not intend to stop there.
He also issued a statement on Wednesday in Abuja saying the Federal Government intends to bring down the full wrath of the law on those peddling rumours that the President was dead or gravely ill.
According to him, the rumours and fake messages over the state of health of the president were orchestrated by those who felt threatened by the emerging order.
The minister urged Nigerians to disregard the messages being circulated via text messages and the social media, adding, that,“the security agencies will neither allow any resort to violence nor a willful subversion of the state for whatever reason’’.

“The source/sources of the fabricated messages are already being investigated and the authors should prepare to face the consequences of their actions,’’ the minister said.
While aside the rumours, the minister said Buhari is hale and hearty and there is no iota of truth in the messages being circulated about the President’s health and the purported emergency meetings of state governors in Abuja or anywhere.

It’s official! Something is wrong with us. The Presidency of a Nation like Nigeria would boldly refer to citizens as “evil doers.” Alas, this is not the first. These men always call us names.
Dear Minister, it is your job to correct wrong impressions, and give orientation where necessary. You are not paid to abuse Nigerians!

Gbam.
Lai lack information skills of impression and expression.
What he should have said is ” fellow Nigerians, it has come to our notice that some people are heralding the death of our dear president. We want you to dispel the hearsay as it has no iota of truth. Our dear president is sound, hale and hearty. He is in the Uk undergoing some medical check-up which expedient for him to do so as to be medically fit to fix the country and bringing the positive change we hope for. We therefore urge rumour heralders, to please cease from stirring such confusion among Nigerians. President Buhari will soon be back to the country”.
At least that is a better speech.
Lol.

Lai Mohammed himself knows he is confused about the president’s health but as the information minister , he has to dispel the rumour of buhari’s death. Well I support that the rumours peddlers should be punished only when baba buhari is back.

In every rumour there’s always an epitom of truth, we need you people to stop criticizing the rumour careers, we really need to know the state of health of Mr President. We’ve accepted Mr President isn’t dead, however, is he terribly sick or about to die? Don’t tell us he’s alive, we need to know if he’s alive but sick! Mr Mohammed pls see to this.

Why is this government always about bringing people down? They can’t simply debunk the rumour and advise the masses to stay away from such report, instead they are busy shouting investigation! Once they get the source of the rumors, will they kill them or parade them to carry “I won’t do that again” play card or what exactly is going to happen to them?

I don’t think you know how far and wide the rumour travelled under 24 hours, some people were left in a state of comatose on hearing the false news, some are yet to get out of the psychological trauma the rumour posed on them and you think the source(s) of the rumour should go unpunished? If they go unpunished they will do something worse than this. Let the federal government find them and deal with them appropriately
