Why FG parted with $2b on Malabu oil deal – Adoke

A new twist has been added to the ongoing controversies over the Malabu oil deal scandal, as the immediate past  Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, Monday, defended the transfer of $2 billion to the company, saying the money does not belong to the Federal Government but Malabu.

According to Adoke, his office facilitated the settlement agreement between the feuding parties and the Federal Government in the interest of Nigeria.

This was contained in a dispatche sent to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday by the former AGF, explaining how the decision to settle out of court between the parties was arrived at.

Adoke also, in the dispatch, explained why the Federal Government only got $210 million out of the $2 billion.
