Wike sacks LG caretaker committees

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Friday, dissolved all the 23 Local Government Caretaker Committees in the state with immediate effect.

The dissolution of the committees was announced in a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu.

According to the statement, the governor also directed the Caretaker Committee Chairmen to hand over to their respective Heads of Personnel Management, HPM.

The HPMs were further directed by Governor Wike to immediately compile the list of staff being owed salaries.

The lists, detailing the number of months being owed each staff, are to be submitted to the Office of the Governor with immediate effect.
