Without ticket or party Shehu Sani insists he will contest in 2019

Senator Shehu Sani has said he would contest election to return to the Senate in the 2019 general elections.

The Senator representing Kaduna central, stated this on his Facebook page on Sunday.

This is coming a day after he resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He however did not name a new party immediately, electing to inform his supporters ‘soon’.

The Senator, who lost the senatorial ticket of the APC to Malam Uba an aide of Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-rufai, said in the Facebook post: “This is to thank all my supporters and friends for the show of solidarity and assurances of support over my decision to exit the APC.

“I assure you that in the next two days you will be informed of my new party. And be rest assured I will contest in the upcoming elections Insha Allah.”

It is however left to be seen how the Senator hopes to get on the ballot paper as the deadline for party primaries had closed with most of the parties haven submitted the list of their candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
